Godshill Methodist Church is the oldest Wesleyan / Methodist Chapel on the Island, dating back to 1838 (the year of Queen Victoria's coronation).

The present chapel is the second in Godshill replacing an earlier chapel built in 1790.

We are now a small congregation with emphasis on providing the the many visitors to our picturesque village the opportunity to come into the chapel during the week to:-

- Pray in a quiet, reverent & private environment;
- Leave a prayer request;
- Find out more about the history of Godshill Methodist Church;
- Find out more about Methodism & Methodist churches on the Island.

The chapel can be found on the main road through the village practically adjacent to the car park entrance opposite the Olde World Tea Gardens. If alighting from a coach make your way through the car park to the entrance and turn right.

A warm welcome awaits any visitor able to attend our Sunday Morning Worship.

Starting in October we will be 'creating or crafting' this year's Nativity Scene. We will meet each Wednesday evening at 6pm.

PRAYER AND PRAISE - Reflection:

We have so much to thank God for and yet how often we can only see the “groans”. The things that make us unhappy always come to mind first. Concentrating on the aches and pains and our “wish list” can cause us to miss the beauty around us. It is easy to forget how very blessed we are – we have warmth, clothes, clean water to drink, food to eat and doctors available to us. We should not be discouraged or discontented.

Psalm 34 vs 1-3 (NLT)
I will praise the Lord at all times, I will constantly speak His praises.

I will boast only in the Lord, let all who are helpless take heart.

Come let us tell of the Lord’s greatness, let us exalt His name together.

Joshua 1 v 9 (NLT)
This is my command - be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

And Paul’s statement in Philippians 4 vs 11 (NLT)
For I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
