We will be "a Christian heart beating at the centre of our community". Our purpose is to worship God and, helped by the power of the Holy Spirit, to encourage each other, to care for those in need and to share the love of Jesus with those in the community around us from its centre.

We have a really active, lively monthly Home Group which bases its Bible study and discussion on the Bible Society's 'Reel Issues' where we watch and discuss issues from popular films. This seems a particularly poular and relevant way to involve our young parents as it has been enthusiastically running since 2007.

Our church members are very active in Churches Together in West Wight (CTWW) - working very closely with 5 denominations: Anglicans, Baptists, URC and Catholics as well as our own Methodists in 11 local churches. Together with IoW Youth for Christ, we fund and employ a Youth Worker, who organises a weekly Rock Solid Group and Youth Fellowship, as well as regular Youth Services. We run 'messy church' activities for children throughout the year and organise an annual week of Holiday Bible Club in the summer. We worship together regularly - at least twice each month - in a united Songs of Praise and also in a more reflective, meditative service called Sunday Reflections.

We meet together in ecumenical groups during Lent, holding annual Lent Brunches which raise more than £5k annually for local and national Christian work. We have teams visiting all our local residential homes and to lead services celebrating the special times of the year with residents. We also run a weekly Drop in Centre in the heart of Freshwater, where there is always a warm welcome, with trained Christian listeners on hand and plenty of fairly traded refreshments available and a Traidcraft stall.
